Here’s the gist...

  • I'm Bella, we've been over this.

  • Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I've travelled a ton and spent a couple years in Colorado for schooling, but I'd say I'm Missouri folk through and through.

  • I make things. Moving fluidly between art and design is important to me. That said, the two should be understood and respected as seperate entities as well.

  • Making more things. That can manifest itself in various forms; something as small as consigning stickers at a local business, to volunteering and elementary guidance and education.

  • Lots of reasons! I make work and learning fun. Like, actually fun. I'm able to do that because I put a lot of care and effort into my personal practice. As a result, I'm easily able to bring that care and effort into other endeavors, leaving room for giggles.

Artist Statement

There is an inherent rhythm within all living things. In my practice, the soul keeps the body's rhythm, the rhythm being something innate that connects us to ourselves and each other. It is universal, necessary, uncompromising, and chronic. What I create is in constant and direct dialogue with that rhythm, in conjunction with many other aspects of the self. Through an ever evolving combination of personal somatic practices and electronic and time-based media, I attempt to explore these themes. It is important to note that, naturally, anything chronic brings suffering. I am not here to deny that giving up can feel good. There is a release there. I am simply suggesting that connection might feel better.
